TechVan is Ireland’s dedicated van based doorstep repair service.
The idea came from years behind a repair counter in Limerick, watching the same thing happen over and over. People taking time off work, driving into town, queuing, and then going days without the device they run their whole life on. For a repair that took forty minutes.
The repair was never the problem. Everything around it was. So we put the workshop in a van and took it to the customer instead.

Behind TechVan is 15+ years repairing electronics in Limerick, including 6+ years as manager and lead technician of a busy repair shop. Thousands of devices, every fault you can think of, and a reputation built on telling people the truth about what’s worth repairing and what isn’t.
The kit
A real lab, not a call out kit
The van carries what a good bench carries: regulated power supply, microscope, thermal imaging and stock of the common parts. That’s deliberate. It means everyday repairs get finished where we’re standing instead of your device disappearing for days.
Behind the van is our in house lab for the harder work. Board level faults, water damage recovery and component level repair go there. Those jobs take longer, and they’re the ones most shops won’t take on at all.
How we work
Board level, not part swapping
Most repair shops replace whole modules until the fault goes away, and charge you for every module they try. We work at component level instead, tracing the fault to the individual part that’s actually failed.
Sometimes that’s a small component and the repair is straightforward. Sometimes it’s involved work that takes days. Either way you get a proper diagnosis and a real price, rather than a guess and a bill for parts you didn’t need.
That’s why we take on work others turn away, and why we can give you the honest answer when a device genuinely isn’t worth saving.

We film every job and publish it. Partly because the work is genuinely interesting, and partly because this trade has a trust problem nobody has properly solved. You hand over your device and you have no idea what happens next.
